Terri Burkhalter Pierce

Terri has focused her career in the area of Family Law and Domestic Litigation. She has practiced law in all courts in Floyd County and surrounding areas for 18 years and served as the Associate Juvenile Court Judge from 2001 to 2004. Terri has concentrated her practice of law on the family unit and has assisted a multitude of clients in negotiating the emotional and often volatile terrain of divorce proceedings, juvenile matters, modifications of custody and support, contempt actions, paternity suits, cases involving guardian ad litems, psychologist custody evaluations, parental rights termination cases, third party custody matters including grandparent visitation and custody cases. Terri also practices in the area of personal injury and auto accidents.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from John Marshall School of Law in 1993 and received the Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence by a Female Student. Terri received her B.A. in 1986 from the University of Georgia School of Journalism. She is a graduate of Leadership Rome, a former member and Chairperson of the Floyd County Child Fatality Review Committee, a member of the Rome Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. She is a former

member of the Council of Juvenile Court Judges of Georgia.

Currently, Terri serves on Darlington School’s Board of Trustees. Terri was past President of Darlington School’s Parent Teacher Organization and President of the Parent’s Council. Terri is a member of Life Church in Rome.

Terri is married to Harry S. Pierce, Jr. and they reside in Lindale with their daughter, Sara Jo.
